Maria Artemiou studied English Language and Literature at the University of Cyprus (BA), providing her with a solid foundation in language and literature studies and pursued a master’s degree (MA) in Translation at the University of Surrey, showcasing her commitment to excellence in language and communication. Maria has significant experience of providing academic and student support in a variety of multicultural academic environments having worked as a teacher to students of all ages but also as a translator and editor/proofreader. Being zealous about the intricacies of different linguistic structures, cultural nuances, and the ability to communicate across borders, Maria has attained several certificates and diplomas in German, French, Italian, Spanish and currently learning Russian. Maria supports lifelong learning, hence, she regularly attends workshops, conferences and courses related to her field of study. Her continuous reflection and refinement of skills like, communication, adaptability, creativity, classroom management, assessment and feedback and technological proficiency contribute to becoming an effective and impactful English lecturer.
