Loizos Michael is an International Relations Specialist and Political Analyst, as well as a
Lecturer. He holds a degree in International Relations and European Studies, and a Master’s
degree in International Relations with a specialization in Security, Conflicts, and International
Crisis Resolution. He is also a certified vocational training instructor by the Human Resource
Development Authority.
Since July 2024, he has served as the Principal of Mesoyios College.
He has worked for several years in managerial positions in both the private sector and Non-
Governmental Organizations. From 2013 to 2019, he served as a Parliamentary Scientific
Associate in the House of Representatives of the Republic of Cyprus.
From 2019 to 2023, he assumed the role of Director of the Office of the Minister of Interior,
where, among other responsibilities, he was extensively involved in managing migration
issues, headed the first National Returns Office, and represented the Republic of Cyprus in
the European Commission’s High-Level Network on Returns.
He is the Vice President of the Cyprus Institute of Demographic and Migration Policy and
has previously served as President of the Cyprus Peace Centre and Deputy President of the
Democratic Youth Community of Europe (DEMYC), as well as Cyprus’ representative in the
European-American Youth Leaders Forum.
He regularly participates as a speaker at international and local conferences on topics
related to international relations and migration. He also contributes scholarly articles and
analyses on a regular basis.
