Mr. John Kouis holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Hotel-Restaurant and Tourism Administration from the University of New Orleans, U.S.A. and a Master’s Degree in Hotel Administration from Cornell University in New York, U.S.A. He worked in the industry both in America and in Cyprus, holding managerial positions in hotel and restaurant businesses. From 1993 to 2006 he was the Head of the Department of the Hospitality and Tourism Program at Intercollege and from 2006 to 2009 he taught in public Technical (Hotel) Schools. From 2009 to 2013 he held the position of the Director of Administration of the Cyprus Tourism Organization, where he also served on the Board of Directors from 2003 to 2008. From 2014, he is a lecturer at Intercollege in the Culinary Arts Management Program. From 2005 to 2008, he represented Cyprus Tourism Organization in International Tourism Exhibitions. He has been involved in various research projects, where the majority of them are on the Tourism and Hospitality Industries, not only in personal projects but also as a team member or a project coordinator. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors of Cyprus Tourism Organization from 2003 to 2008 and as a Municipal Councillor of the Municipal Authority of Lysi from 1996 to 2001.
