Every international student should be in possession of a license issued by the Civil Registry and Migration Department. The student visa is issued for a specific educational institution.

School attendance is compulsory and concerns the programs and disciplines of study approved by the Ministry of Education and Culture.

Requirements and procedures for Cyprus Entry Permit / VISA

A TO Z PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION OF INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Here below you can find the A to Z procedure (3 Steps) for the admission of international students:

STEP 1 – APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION

Forward at admissions@mesoyios.ac.cy the following documents to apply for admission in a program of study (the application fees for admission are included in the total agreed tuition fees):

  1. Copy of passport (valid for at least 2 years)
  2. Copy of Higher Secondary School mark sheet (with minimum total mark of 50% in order to be eligible)
  3. Copy of English Language Certificate (see the “STUDY OPTIONS ON THE BASIS OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS” below).

After reviewing the above documents, the Academic Committee will issue Acceptance Letter (conditional or unconditional) to eligible applicants (no separate invitation is needed). This procedure is being done within 48 hours.

Available programs of study:

1. Hotel, Casino & Resort Management (4 years, Bachelor’s Degree)

Availability:                                       Every Fall (OCT) and Spring (FEB) semesters

Language of instruction:                English

Normal Tuition fees:                       €7,000 (before the special discounted given to Agency)

2. Business Administration (4 years, Bachelor’s Degree)

Availability:                                       Every Fall (OCT) and Spring (FEB) semesters

Language of instruction:                English

Normal Tuition fees:                       €6,780 (before the special discounted given to Agency)

3. Hotel Management (3 years, Higher Diploma)

Availability:                                       Every Fall (OCT) and Spring (FEB) semesters (subject to enrolment of minimum 10 students)

Language of instruction:                English

4. Hospitality Operations Management (2 years, Diploma)

STEP 2 – VISA REQUIREMENTS AND PROCEDURE

Before student arrives to Cyprus:

Required documents for the issue of visa / entry permit:

  1. Duly certified copy of passport or other travel document, with a validity of:
    1. at least the expected duration of studies
    2. at least two years

The shortest period of validity of any of the above mentioned

  1. In cases of minors, duly certified parental approval of the suggested residence, with official translation in Greek or English.
  2. Duly certified copy of police clearance certificate (valid for 6 months) from the official authorities of the country of residence with official translation in Greek or English.
  3. Duly certified original medical examinations for: 1) HBV or HBsAg or HBS; 2) HCV or AntiHCV; 3) AIDS – HIV; 4) VDRL or RPR and 5) X-rays or TPHA or Tuberculosis (valid for 4 months) from country of origin with validity of four months.
  4. Duly certified copy of secondary school and higher secondary school certificates including mark sheet.
  5. Duly certified copy of certificate of success in examinations IGCSE (minimum grade D), IELTS (minimum grade 5) or TOEFL (minimum grade 500), in order to certify the ability of the candidate students to study academic level courses in English language. For the cases that the students from third countries do not have such certificates, then will have to go through interviews by representatives of the Ministries involved, through teleconferencing. It is clarified that the interviews will be organized in time period which will be defined in coordination with the colleges’ associations, by a 3-member committee composed by representatives of the Ministries of Education, Interior and Exterior.
  6. Duly certified copy of Bank affirmation for the ability of the candidate to pay the tuition fees for ALL years of study in Cyprus.
  7. Duly certified copy of confirmation letter from a Banking Institution in his country of residence and bank statements with the ending balance corresponding to ALL years of study (valid for 6 months).
  8. Duly certified declaration signed by the candidate students, confirming their intention to study in colleges in Cyprus and excludes intention to submit application for granting political asylum from the Republic of Cyprus.
  9. Acceptance letter from an Educational Institution, in order to register to a program of studies, including a description of the specific program of studies and its duration.
  10. Receipt of payment of registration fees to the Educational Institution. Arrange for the bank transfer of the amount showing on acceptance letter to the College account on student’s name (and passport number).

  1. Students’ declaration and responsibility form (only for Indian students).
  2. Application Form M58 (for VISA / Entry Permit) will be completed and submitted to Cyprus Migration Department by the Mesoyios College.

Documents from countries which signed the Convention of Hague 1961 should be accompanied by Apostille stamp as certification. Documents from other countries should be certified at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy/Consulate of the Republic of Cyprus in home country.

Although there are no deadlines for submitting the application for VISA, students are advised to post their original attested documents at least three (3) weeks before the start of the academic classes (2nd October / 2nd June, 2nd October), so as the college officers to have enough time to complete and submit the application for student visa.

STEP 3 – AFTER VISA ISSUANCE

As soon as the college receives the original Entry Permit (visa) from the Migration Department, we will forward a copy to the agent/student via email and the student should go to the Embassy/Consulate of the Republic of Cyprus in home country to get the original VISA, stamp his/her passport and be able to travel to Cyprus.

There is no deadline to apply for admission. However, if a student misses a deadline for documents attestation for a specific semester, he/she will be eligible for the next one.

The holders of the above English Language Certificates with specified minimum grades/marks are entitled to apply for enrolment in our “English Preparatory Foundation Year” (two semesters) and pass the English Examinations in Cyprus with grade/mark results as shown on Table 1 above. If students succeed, they become eligible to continue their studies in one of our undergraduate academic programs, as from SPRING2024 (February 2024) semester.

NOTES:

  1. Every year there are 3 intakes for the “English Preparatory Foundation Year” : SPRING (February), SUMMER (June) and FALL (October).
  2. Every year there are 2 intakes for direct enrolment into academic studies : SPRING (February) and FALL (October).
  3. Students who will fail to pass the connected examinations at the end of “English Preparatory Foundation Year”, they will have to return to their country.
