DESCRIPTION

Accounting – The program is designed to prepare students to follow careers as professional accountants. Required and elective courses have been developed in order to give students a strong sense of the responsibilities needed for accounting. More specifically, the program provides students with a solid education through required courses such as Financial Accounting, Cost Management Accounting I, Corporate Law, and many other that will help students develop necessary skills for accountants. In addition, students may also select courses such as accounting, English language, other foreign languages, computer and liberal arts courses. Through these courses students will be provided with opportunities to practice effective accounting.

When you earn your Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, you would be prepared to advance your accounting career in a number of roles. Careers in accounting could involve the following responsibilities:

  • Planning, directing or coordinating financial activities of a branch, office or department
  • Preparing cost estimates to aid management in bidding on or determining prices of products or services
  • Examining budget estimates for completeness, accuracy, and conformity with procedures and regulations
  • Analyzing credit data and financial statements to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money
  • Advising clients on financial plans using knowledge of investment strategies, securities, insurance, pension plans and real estate
  • Enforcing or ensuring compliance with laws and regulations governing financial and securities institutions
